I’ve had the pleasure of photographing multiple weddings at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, California. It is super charming and feels like an enchanted forest as soon as you enter.
The venue is located just outside of downtown Fairfax in Marin county – about 30 minutes north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Fairfax (my town) is the charm of Marin with towering redwoods, cute little shoppes, lots of restaurants, and easy access to every outdoor activity. There is even a quaint hotel a short walk from the venue.
They have done a beautiful job grooming the grounds and with lighting the outdoor areas. The lighting in the trees makes is feel rather magical.
The bridal cottage is awesome! Any bridal party will love hanging out in this adorable space for getting ready before the wedding. The docor is warm and comfortable.
Inside the bridal cottage is this amazing room with a long wall of vanity mirrors. This makes it easy for everyone to get ready at the same time, offers great light, and also is fantastic for photographs!
The main patio sits beneath giant redwood trees and the sun sets behind them so afternoon weddings are kissed with amazing golden hour light.
There are lovely areas for addiitonal photos all around the venue. The lane below is just behind the venue and makes a great spot for intimate couples shots.
There is a large covered front patio (below) where guests can be seated for dinner or as just a place to hang out.
I would love to talk to you about photographing your wedding at Deer Park Villa! Go book them and then come back and check my availability 🙂
Jessica & Paul chose a perfect summer day in January for their intimate elopement wedding at the Old Saint Hilary’s Chapel in Tiburon, California. There was no wind, blue skies, and afternoon temperatures in the 70’s.
We started the day at Blackie’s Pasture with amazing views of the bay and San Francisco.
The ceremony was held in front of the Old Saint Hilary’s chapel up on the hill above downtown Tiburon. The sweet ceremony was officiated by George McLaird.
A twilight reception picnic was enjoyed by Jessica and Paul at Shoreline Park in downtown Tiburon.
Jessica and Paul’s transprotation on the wedding day was provided by Bob Taft in his vintage 1959 Aston Martin DB2/4 MKIII.
Jessica & Paul were really a pleasure to work with. I am blessed to have such wonderful clients! Here is what they had to say about their experience working with me…
I was fortunate enough to photograph the sweet, intimate wedding day of Matt and Marco this October. They began by getting ready at the Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito and then held the ceremony and reception at Matt’s family home in Larkspur.
The rain threatened to make things difficult. However, it relented just in time for the key moments of the day.
Some guests joined via video call…
Heirloom family jewelry hung over their heads as they took their vows…
We just photographed the wedding of Lana and Eric at the Wedgewood Stone Tree in Novato, California. The property is really beautiful, overlooking the lush golf course. What an honor to be part of their sacred event!
Cavallo Point in Sausalito is a wonderfully picturesque location with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco bay. I took Anne and Jim here for their engagement photos on this dramatic overcast evening.
We ended the shoot at under the Golden Gate Bridge near the Moore Road Pier. This is a location we would return to on their wedding night as well.
Deer Park Villa is just a short walk from where I live in Fairfax, California. It is in the most beautiful setting for an intimate wedding among the towering redwood trees. This is an incredibly photogenic venue.
Barbara and Danny had the perfect wedding day at Inn Marin & Suites in Novato California. The weather was ideal. The guests were warm. The bride and groom were gushing with love for each other. Jim Vetter Photography LOVED photographing this wedding.
Living in northern California really affords me some amazing locations to photography my clients. Kaitlin and Joel joined me on Muir Beach and up on Mt Tamalpais for this incredible session in May. The conditions were amazing and we had a great time!
